SEPS-Inc. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response

We at SEPS, a Unified Power company, wanted to take a moment during the escalating global concerns around COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, to reassure you that we are actively monitoring the situation. SEPS considers the health and safety of our employees, customers and business partners our top priority. We are constantly evaluating how to continue providing you with the best possible service while following the updates, recommendations, and protocols issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Our customers depend on SEPS to quickly respond to their critical power infrastructure needs. Our investments in systems and technology permit our scheduling and support personnel to work remotely. We are currently honoring all guaranteed response-time commitments, and we will communicate promptly if that changes as a result of this evolving situation.

Importantly, SEPS has instituted a Mandatory Quarantine Period. Any employee who has symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19 will be quarantined from SEPS offices, employees, customers, and business partners for fourteen (14) days. We are also advising our employees to remain at home if they are sick or display even mild symptoms.

Here are some important facts about the coronavirus:

  • The coronavirus is a respiratory virus, similar to the flu or the common cold.
  • The virus is thought to spread mainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
  • It may be possible that the virus is spread by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or possibly eyes; however this is not believed to be the primary way the virus spreads.
  • Symptoms of coronavirus infection include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
  • Symptoms can occur 2-14 days after exposure.

Everyone can do their part by practicing general flu prevention measures including:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least twenty (20) seconds.
  • Remain at home if you are feeling sick or have symptoms of acute respiratory illness.
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces daily.

If you are sick, to keep from spreading respiratory illness to others, you should:

  • Remain at home and follow normal procedures for calling in sick.
  • Contact your doctor and let him/her know your symptoms, travel history and if you have had contact with people who are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, (or arm if a tissue is not available) and then dispose of the tissue in the trash.
